V Team –

As we previously shared, the U.S. federal government recently announced an executive order mandating COVID-19 vaccines for employees of federal contractors like Verizon. This applies to all federal contract employees and includes other employees working in the same location. This includes employees who work remotely in federal government functions.

All non-union Verizon employees must show proof of vaccination, regardless of where or how frequently they visit a Verizon office.

The only exceptions to these requirements are employees who are “home-based” within Verizon Consumer Group, and employees from outside the U.S. All changes to our protocols will be communicated country-by-country.

At the moment, we do not have any restrictions on union-represented employees. We are currently in discussions with the unions. More details will be shared when they become available.

What’s next? Verify your vaccination status.

Employees must verify their vaccine status and submit proof of vaccination. Please note, the deadlines vary for employees:

For U.S. employees (non-union) except retail, R2B and VCG home-based: The deadline to be fully vaccinated will be December 8, 2021. You will receive instructions on Monday, October 18, to upload proof of vaccination or apply for a legally recognized religious or medical accommodation.
For contractors, vendors, visitors and new hires who enter our U.S. facilities: The deadline to be fully vaccinated will be January 1, 2022.
For our retail and R2B teams: The deadline to be fully vaccinated will be February 1, 2022. These teams will provide instructions to employees in January on how to check your vaccination status and apply for legal religious or medical accommodations.

This schedule is based on the current and anticipated U.S. federal requirements. We will inform you if there are any changes in those requirements.

The V Team is our top priority.

Since the pandemic became a reality, our top priority has been the V Team. We know vaccines are our solution to drive change and slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities so that we can protect each other and emerge from this crisis. Talk to your healthcare provider if you have any questions about vaccines.

While we respect that within our workforce there are people with different beliefs and perspectives related to COVID-19 and the vaccine, we must comply with the government’s requirements, including those for federal contractors. No matter how you feel about it, we all belong to the same V Team. Let’s show respect for each other.

Please refer to our COVID-19 Employee Resource Page for more information, including an FAQ with additional details and deadlines. Please submit any questions to the Ask HR mailbox. Thank you for all that you do to support our customers and communities. We will #ForwardTogether as always.
