Jasson Dominguez has been regarded as the most admired Minor League prospect in recent memory. He was accompanied by high expectations during his professional debut. Brian Cashman, Yankees general manager, believes that the switch-hitting superstar lived up to his hype.

Dominguez was a member of a Rookie-ball club and played seven games before moving to Low-A Tampa where he batted .258/.346/.. 398 had nine doubles, a triple and five homers. He also scored 18 RBIs during 49 game. Cashman stated that only a few prospects are capable of making the jump to full-season leagues as 18-year olds.

Cashman stated recently that Cashman’s “exceptional work ethic and his determination to succeed is extraordinary.” “When you involve all departments, whether it be player development, performance science or the measurables that go along with it, he’s a rare anomaly that doesn’t happen very often.”

Dominguez, a Dominican Republic product, received $5.1 million from the Yankees as a signing bonus in July 2019,. This was all except $300,000 the club’s bonus pool. It also set a franchise record for international amateurs.

The Yankees’ No. 2 prospect by MLB Pipeline. MLB Pipeline ranked him the No. 2 prospect. His switch-hitting speedster has drawn comparisons to many of the greatest baseball athletes, such as Bo Jackson, Mickey Mantle, and Mike Trout.

Cashman stated that there are many talented people and that Cashman has a higher degree and talent level than most. Cashman said, “If he can clearly put that together and match it to his performance level then you’re going be talking about something very extraordinary.”

Kevin Reese was promoted to vice-president of player development recently and stated that the Yankees are “extremely excited about Dominguez’s return to the field in order to continue his march towards the big leagues.

Reese stated, “Everywhere he goes he’s turning heads.” His ability to connect with people and his ability to lead at such an early age, the exit Velo, the speed. Some of the measures that we do on the performance science side are just amazing. We want him to play more baseball. I believe all of his skills and all of his ability are there.

Reese stated that the Yankees are still undecided about where Dominguez will start the season. He will likely play for Low-A Tampa where Rachel Balkovec was recently appointed as the first female manager of affiliated professional baseball. Balkovec was a hitting coach for Dominguez in the Florida Complex League’s last season.

“I think that the conversation is, “OK, he can hit it hard. Balkovec stated, “We all know that.” He’s a remarkable person in the clubhouse, and I believe that people will come to understand his character. His talent is amazing. He is eager to learn. Right now, we’re taking offseason English classes. We don’t even talk about baseball.

“We are talking about English classes so that he can become a better person at the clubhouse, and be a leader for both Latin American players and American players in the future. While everyone knows about his talent in baseball, it is obvious that he is a special person. His character perspective is amazing and what he brings to clubhouse is incredible.”
