dWeb.News Article from Daniel Webster dWeb.News

Women with color are doing amazing things online. They create inspiring and educational content and are a major influencer in the fashion, beauty, health, and business worlds. They make a living by building brands and being authentic. They’re also creating strong communities that share their experiences.

Today is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day. We’re launching The Conversation, a YouTube series that shares and celebrates the experiences of women entrepreneurs of color. Each interview will feature a woman of color talking about her journey and her experiences, as well as her successes and failures. The guests will discuss how they have built brands that resonate with others and how their passions have turned into full-time jobs. They will also talk about how race, gender and culture have influenced their lives, as well as the ups, downs, and what they want to share with the rest of the world. There is no topic off the table. This includes how to deal with haters and how to overcome creator burnout.

Our first episode features creator Tyla-Lauren Gilmore. 2015, Tyla-Lauren finally accepted her natural curls after years of straightening. She began documenting her personal transformation on Instagram and YouTube, and almost immediately, other women took notice. Today, more than 150,000 subscribers follow her beauty and lifestyle posts across her social media channels. Tyla-Lauren continues sharing her personal stories to inspire other women to embrace their natural beauty, and be comfortable in their skin.
