DISNEY PARKS NEWS: PlanDisney Pocket Guide To Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

dWeb.News Article from Daniel Webster dWeb.News

Over the past several weeks we have taken you through 11 Disney Resort hotels, and the fun continues this week as we journey to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. This resort is full of the excitement of New Orleans’ historic French Quarter. It features cobblestone streets and wrought-iron balconies.

The bayou is calling to you as you walk along the Sassagoula River towards your resort room. You might be able to find out what else is calling. Mickey beignets. We’ll get to that in a moment.

This resort is located in Disney Springs and offers rooms that can sleep up to four people. You can choose from standard, pool or river view rooms.

planDisney Tip: Looking for a romantic getaway? This resort is rated by planDisney panelists as one of the most romantic at Walt Disney World Resort HTML1.

Now let’s talk about food! Three amazing food and beverage options are available at this resort. These include Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, Scat Cat’s Club (Lounge and Cafe), and Mardi Grogs. Did you remember the mention of Mickey beignets. They are back and available at Scat Cat Club Cafe. There are many options available, including a Mickey-shaped Beignet sundae. However, we prefer the classic powdered sugar-covered beignets. Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This fast-service restaurant serves delicious Creole and Cajun cuisine.

Looking for a day at this resort? Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter has many activities. Double Lagoon is the place to be for Mardi Gras celebrations. You will find festive decorations, an all-alligator band, and a blue sea serpent waterslide. There is also a water play area and whirlpool spa and the Mardi Grogs bar.

planDisney Tip: Guests must be 48″ or under to play at the Double Lagoon Water Play Area.

Cajun Campfire and Movies Under the Stars are also available at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter.

planDisney Tip: A short walk away down the Sassagoula River, guests can also visit the recreation and dining offerings at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
