RELIGION: The State Public Ministry of Bahia forced Pastor Carlos Cesar Januario, from the First Baptist Church of Ipuau to read a retraction during the service last Wednesday (10) for having used the word “homosexuality”.

On June 30 this year, the religious leader criticized companies that created advertising campaigns to commemorate the LGBTQ+ Pride month and asked for them to be boycotted.

The message in question was broadcast by YouTube, and how he used the term “homosexuality” promoted discrimination against the group of homosexuals, because the word gives a sense of disease.

The person who signed the decision to withdraw for the pastor to redeem himself with the community was Justice Prosecutor Alicia Violeta Botelho.

“The purpose of the Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) was to guarantee respect for the dignity of the human person and sexual diversity as a result of the fundamental rights to the free development of personality, freedom and equality , in line with fundamental rights, freedom of expression and religious freedom,” said Botelho.
