.Instructure Holdings, Inc (NYSE : INST), announced this Month the acquisition of the integration platform as well as long-standing partner Kimono, for an undisclosed sum.

Instructure, a Salt Lake City-based company that owns the most popular Canvas LMS, will rebrand Kimono to Elevate Data Sync when it joins Instructure Learning Platform.

This technology allows secure syncing between student, staff, learning, and other data within school environments. This move expands Instructure’s ability to integrate learning data and roster between edtech and student information systems.

The acquisition demonstrates Instructure’s vision to build education’s most integrated platform. It also demonstrates our deep commitment ,”, said Steve Daly CEO of Instructure. “We want to give schools the freedom of choice to connect with their preferred applications.”

Kimono is standards-agnostic. It supports industry-standard protocols and data models, including OneRoster and LIS. This allows for interoperability and easy of use.

Created twenty years ago and based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kimono serves six state education agencies, over 2300 districts, 27,000 schools and universities, and over 16 million students globally.
