ARAB NEWS: LONDON: Britain’s Prince Charles arrived in the Middle East on Tuesday for a four day trip to Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. He agreed with Queen Elizabeth that the trip should go ahead despite her illness.

Charles, the first in line for the throne, is reported to have discussed the matter with the queen and decided that an official visit must continue. It will strengthen ties between Egypt and Jordan, which both have long-standing relations with Britain. 95, Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in the UK. She has been on the throne from 1952.. After injuring her back, she has now reduced her usual busy schedule to “light duties” until December. Prince Charles, 73,, and Camilla, 74,, will be received by King Abdullah of Jordan and Queen Rania at Al-Husseiniya Palace. They will continue to build on their long-standing ties with the royal families. They will be participating in over 30 formal engagements during their four-day visit to Jordan and Egypt.
