Welcome to Tsurumi Island

The Genshin Impact Particularly Particular Author quest is a new world quest that takes you through almost everything Tsurumi Island has to offer.

This is a lengthy quest so be patient. You’ll want to bring a Pyro character and a good defender with you, and Thoma fits the bill perfectly if you’re lucky enough to get him later.

Downloading the 2.2 update adds Tsurumi Island to your map, but you can’t do much there just yet. Although the game does not specify this, you will need to first pick up a new quest.

Complete Reminiscence of Seirai first, then go back to the Guild in Inazuma City to get another world quest, A Particularly Particular Author.

Just follow the prompts and you will arrive on Tsurumi island. This is currently the only way to get full access. I tried exploring the island before I picked up the quest, but always got lost in the mist.

Go through the stone gate and talk to Ruu. Next, collect feathers from Thunderbird Tree. This will help to purify the tree for an upcoming ritual. However, this is only a tutorial. You can use your Elemental Sight to help you find the feathers. Follow the map markers.

Head to the Autake Plain, the nearest misty spot, first. Use Electro to activate the purple lanterns along the path and prevent you from getting lost. Before touching the tree, make sure your party has a strong defensive character, such as Thoma.

As you hunt for the round of feathers, you’ll be confronted with many Rifthound enemies. Shields are the only way to stop their Corrosion effect. This is an ailment that slowly depletes your party’s HP.

The second tree is north of Oina Beach and has many more feathers to collect. Collect all of the feathers above ground and then lead the Seelies to their respective courts to lower the water level.

Deal with the Ruin Hunters and complete the Electro relay puzzle. You will need to be ready for the Ruin Guard at the other end of the door.

The next room contains several puzzles. Your first task is to find three more Seelies in order to lower the water level.

After that, you can grab the relay stones from your newly drained gulley. The circuits must be completed on each side of the mechanism. However, they are separate. Also, you shouldn’t attempt to bridge the relay points at the middle.

Grab the last feather and go back to the tree.

The third tree is northeast of Oina Beach, and you get a reprieve from puzzles this time — in exchange for more combat. You can see the feathers, but an infestation of Electro Whopperflowers follows you around at every turn.

Your rewards for all this are, admittedly, a bit meager:

50 Primogems
450 Adventurer EXP
5 Hero’s Wit
5 Mystic Enhancement Ore
50,000 Mora

If you’re still catching up on Genshin Impact‘s Inazuma region, check out Tatara Tales, Sacred Sakura Cleansing, and the Amakumo Peak puzzle to get the most out of your time in the land of eternity. If you’re tired of puzzling and need a break, cast your fishing line and get a shiny new polearm in the process
