SILVER SPRING, MD, October 14, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — October is the month to reign supreme for the support of breast cancer survivors and those affected all over the United States. Maryland filmmaker Alyscia Cunningham is taking action by producing and screening her award-winning documentary “I Am More Than My Hair” for free. Alyscia Cunningham was a filmmaker and photographer who created the documentary to help educate about hair loss and the role that breast cancer plays in it.

My Hair is a documentary film, photography book and exhibition about women who have lost their hair due to stress and other health conditions. This documentary reveals multiple journeys of self empowerment to see beauty beyond what the media portrays. Cunningham stated that “I Am More Than My Hair” is Cunningham’s goal to educate viewers on alopecia. This refers to the loss or partial absence of hair in areas other than those where it grows normally. Cunningham said that hair loss can be caused by many factors, including side effects of radiation. “

The screening will open on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 5: 00 PM (EST). Those who are interested will have until Sunday, October 17, 2021, 5: 00 PM (EST) to watch. Once the viewers begin, they will have 24 hours to complete the film. To view the film, individuals must RSVP. This will also include a Q&A with Cunningham, which will take place on Zoom, Sunday, October 17, 2021, 5: 00 PM-6: 00 PM (EST) and will be moderated by Director, Alyscia Cunningham.
